# Setting up Google Workspace, Gmail or G Suite SMTP

# Using Your Gmail Account as an SMTP Server

Using Gmail as your SMTP server allows you to send emails through your Gmail account using various email clients or applications. Follow these steps to set up your Gmail account as an SMTP server.

## Prerequisites
1. A Gmail account.
2. Access to your Gmail account settings.
3. The application or email client where you want to configure SMTP.

## Step-by-Step Guide

### Step 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
1. Go to [Google Account](https://myaccount.google.com/).
2. Select "Security" from the left-hand menu.
3. Under "Signing in to Google," select "2-Step Verification."
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable 2FA.

### Step 2: Generate an App Password
1. Go to the [App Passwords](https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords) page.
2. Sign in to your Google account if prompted.
3. Select "Select app" and choose the app you’re using (e.g., Mail).
4. Select "Select device" and choose the device you’re using (e.g., Windows Computer).
5. Click "Generate."
6. Copy the 16-character app password. You’ll use this password in place of your regular Gmail password when configuring the SMTP server.

### Step 3: Configure SMTP Settings in PerkZIlla
Use the following SMTP server settings for Gmail:

- **SMTP Server:** `smtp.gmail.com`
- **Port:** `587` (TLS) or `465` (SSL)
- **Username:** Your full Gmail address (e.g., `yourname@gmail.com`)
- **Password:** The 16-character app password generated in Step 2
